For our pets, home is more than a place. It is their sanctuary, a familiar environment filled with familiar people, scents, sounds and daily rituals. There is a particular kind of comfort in knowing what comes next. The morning begins with the familiar sound of the kettle. Breakfast follows. A favourite coat is reached for. The front door opens. There is a walk, a return home, a quiet afternoon and, eventually, the familiar rituals of evening.
